Part of Hilleberg's Yellow Label range. These tents are primarily designed to be lightweight and intended for use in warmer climates and in snow-free conditions. They feature inner tents with large mesh panels which cannot be covered as well as full-time venting integrated into their construction. This ensures they have superb warm-weather venting, but can also make them feel cold in cooler conditions. Perfect for long or short trips in more protected terrain.
The Niak is ideal for any summer or warm weather trips. The dimensions accommodate two people who want to go as light as possible, but its single door and lengthwise vestibule make it somewhat less comfortable than other Hilleberg models. This designed makes it the perfect three-season solo tent when you want to be as comfortable as possible at a low weight and it is especially good for a parent and a child, or for one person and a dog.
The self-supporting dome design requires only the vestibule to be pegged, and the simple full sleeve and tensioner pole system make for quick, easy set up. The single entrance/ single vestibule configuration afford easy access as well as storage space. Either side of the entrance can be used for access, and both sides can be completely rolled away to expose the inner tent's mesh doors for added air flow on hot days. The catenary patterning on the outer tent walls (where the outer doesn't go all the way to the ground) also ensures constant venting while still offering excellent protection from the rain.
Looped guy lines affixed to twin attachments on each side of each pole increase stability in poor conditions. Two integrated stowage pockets help to keep you organised and the high bathtub floor keeps out ground water.
The Kerlon 1000 flysheet is a 20D high tenacity ripstop nylon fabric; with a tear strength of 8kg, it is very light, with plenty of strength for 3-season use.
