Family & Leisure TentsBackpacking & Lightweight TentsInflatable Tents
Also known as air tents or blow up tents, these tents are the ideal choice for anyone heading to a festival, a family camping trip or a last minute weekend escape. At Taunton Leisure, we handpick every model in our collection to ensure it performs brilliantly in UK conditions and offers lasting value wherever you pitch up.

Air Tents for Camping

Instead of traditional metal or fibreglass poles, air tents use high-pressure air beams for structure and strength. Customers love our tents for lots of reasons, including:
  • Easy Pitching: No poles or complicated setup
  • Stable and Secure: High-pressure beams have great wind resistance
  • Ideal for Groups: The right fit for families and groups
  • Weather Resistant: Perfect for UK weather conditions with waterproof and durable materials
Many inflatable tents come with useful internal layouts, blackout bedrooms, generous living areas and storage zones. Our blow up tents are perfect for longer stays and unpredictable weather.

FAQs About Inflatable Tents

Are inflatable tents any good in bad weather?

Yes, a well-made inflatable tent is more than capable of withstanding British weather. High-quality air tents use tough, waterproof fabrics and robust air beam technology that provides excellent stability, even in high winds and heavy rain. Some campers even find them more wind-resistant than traditional poled tents, as the beams flex slightly under pressure instead of snapping. Choosing a model from a trusted brand is key, as is making sure your guy lines are properly pegged out and tensioned.

How long does it take to set up an air tent?

Most air tents can be fully pitched in around 10–15 minutes, depending on size and experience. Smaller models might take under 10 minutes, while larger family tents can take a bit longer, but the process is still straightforward and manageable for one person. Once your blow up tent is unrolled and pegged at the corners, simply attach the pump and inflate the beams one by one. After that, it’s just a case of pegging out the guylines.

Do I need a special pump for a blow up tent?

Most blow up tents come with a compatible hand pump included. These are specifically designed to fit the valves and achieve the required PSI for structural integrity. Some campers opt for an electric pump (especially for larger inflatable tents) to make setup even easier. Always check the manufacturer’s guidelines, as using an incorrect pump can risk over-inflation.

Can air tents puncture?

While punctures are rare, they can happen, just as with any inflatable item. However, the air beams inside air tents are typically made from durable, multi-layered materials that resist punctures well. Many models also include a protective sleeve around the inflatable beams, adding another layer of protection. If you do get a puncture, most manufacturers include a repair kit and replacement beams are often available.
