The Classic Microlight, Refined

The core Rab Microlight collection continues to provide warm, packable down insulation, but with updated materials and carefully considered construction for Autumn/Winter 2026.

The new collection uses 700FP recycled down with a Grangers hydrophobic treatment, helping the insulation retain its loft in damp conditions. A lightweight Pertex® Quantum outer incorporates NetPlus® yarn made using fully traceable, post-consumer recycled fishing nets.

Zoned micro and nano baffles balance warmth, mobility and packability without creating unnecessary bulk. The result is a refined version of the familiar Microlight, designed for walking, climbing, travel and everyday winter wear.

New Microlight Shield

Waterproof down protection for cold and wet conditions.

The Microlight Shield is the waterproof evolution of Rab’s classic down jacket. It combines warm 700FP recycled down with a 2-layer Pertex® Shield waterproof outer, providing insulation and dependable weather protection in one jacket.

It is an excellent choice for cold, wet walks and winter adventures where a conventional down jacket would normally need to be protected beneath a separate waterproof shell.

New Rab Microlighter

Lightweight insulation built for moving faster.

The new Microlighter Jacket and Microlighter Pullover Hoody are designed for activities where your pace and temperature frequently change.

Instead of traditional loose down baffles, they use lightweight TXdown® recycled down-infused sheet insulation. This provides breathable, low-bulk warmth that remains evenly distributed as you move.

The Microlighter range is particularly well suited to fast hiking, climbing, fastpacking and active layering when a traditional down jacket may feel warmer than you need while moving.
