The Keron GT is a exceptionally sturdy, yet relatively light in weight tent that will work for any situation, and will handle many years of use. It's designed for any back country adventure, from demanding, extended winter expeditions, to long or short rambles in mountains and/ or forests, to casual coastal jaunts, to relaxed overnight camping outings in your local recreation area. This includes both "professionals" - mountain guides, forest rangers, search and rescue teams and military special operation units as well as families, hikers and other regular users. The extended vestibule on this tent makes is a good choice for cycle tourers because the extra vestibule allows plenty of storage space for bike equipment.
The tunnel construction offers maximum, and plenty of space for 3 occupants, the design requires only four pegs for quick pitching and the continuous pole sleeve and tensioner system makes this tent quick to pitch, take down and remarkably stable. The outer tent walls extend to the ground and the mesh areas are backed with adjustable fabric panels. The extended, GT version is an especially good choice for dog mushers and cycle tourers because the extra large vestibule allows plenty of storage space for sled or bike equipment.
Dual entrances and vestibules ensure that one door can always be situated out of the wind and provide flexible entry/ exit and storage options. Four integrated stowage pockets help to keep you organised, and the high bathtub floor keeps out groundwater. Adjustable vents on the ends are backed with adjustable no-see-um mesh and air-permeable snow-proof panels, both of which are accessible from inside or outside the tent. Guy lines on the vestibule vent hood and looped guy lines affixed to twin attachments on each side of each pole increase stability in poor conditions
The Kerlon 1800 flysheet is a 40D high tenacity ripstop nylon 66 fabric; with a tear strength of 18kg, it offers the ideal balance of great strength and light weight.
For added protection, an additional tough Footprint can be purchased to help protect the tent’s floor from abrasion and to keep ground moisture from rising in the vestibule.
