The Hilleberg Allak 3 is a fully freestanding, all‑season dome tent for small groups who want dependable strength, flexible pitching and generous space in challenging conditions around the world.
Part of Hilleberg's Red Label range, these tents are designed for both short and longer trips in generally less demanding conditions in all seasons.
Inside Comfort
The inner tent offers plenty of usable room for two or three occupants along with their gear, making it well suited to both moving camps and longer base camp use. With a 115 cm inner height and good overall length, it provides comfortable sitting room and extra comfort for taller users. Two entrances give each occupant easy access and help keep the living area organised.
Outside Performance
Designed for genuine year‑round use, the outer tent extends fully to the ground, while adjustable fabric panels back the mesh areas to manage ventilation in cold or windy conditions. Kerlon 1200 outer fabric combined with 9 mm poles delivers an excellent balance of strength and manageable weight. The three‑pole dome structure features multiple crossing points, giving strong resistance to wind and reliable snow‑load handling for winter use.
Setup
The fully freestanding dome design allows the Allak 3 to be pitched without pegs, making it ideal for rocky ground, sand or hard surfaces. Short pole sleeves and clip attachments keep pitching quick and straightforward. The inner and outer tents are linked but separable and pitch together, helping keep the inner dry in poor weather. Two integrated vestibules sit parallel to the sleeping area, offering practical storage and smooth entry and exit.
Optional Additions - Available SeparatelyFor added protection, an additional tough
Footprint can be purchased to help protect the tent’s floor from abrasion and to keep ground moisture from rising in the vestibule.

Understanding the Hilleberg Range
Hilleberg are widely regarded as one of the world's leading tent manufacturers, trusted by everyone from first-time backpackers to experienced mountaineers, expedition teams and outdoor professionals. Designed and developed in Sweden, Hilleberg tents have been used on every continent and have earned a reputation for exceptional reliability, innovative Kerlon fabrics and meticulous attention to detail.
One of the biggest misconceptions about Hilleberg is that the most expensive or strongest tent is automatically the best choice. In reality, every Hilleberg tent is designed for a specific purpose, balancing weight, strength, ventilation and living space to suit different environments and styles of adventure.
For example, while a Black Label tent offers outstanding strength for demanding conditions, it may not be the ideal choice for a lightweight summer trek or an extended trip in warmer climates. Likewise, a lightweight Yellow Label tent is perfect for many adventures but isn't designed for severe winter conditions. Choosing the right Hilleberg is about finding the tent that best matches where you'll go, the weather you'll encounter and how you like to travel.
That's why understanding Hilleberg's colour label system is so important.
Designed for snow-free conditions and warmer climates, Yellow Label tents are Hilleberg's lightest range. They prioritise low weight and excellent ventilation, making them ideal for summer backpacking, bikepacking, long-distance trails and lightweight trekking.
Red Label tents are Hilleberg's versatile all-season range, offering an excellent balance of strength, weight and comfort. For many people, they provide the ideal combination of durability and packability for year-round trekking in a wide variety of conditions.
Black Label tents are Hilleberg's strongest and most robust designs, built for demanding environments, prolonged use and severe weather. They prioritise maximum strength and durability where reliability is critical.
If you're unsure which Hilleberg is right for you, our Hilleberg specialists can help. Rather than recommending the most expensive model, we'll ask about the trips you have planned, the conditions you'll encounter and the features that matter most, helping you choose the tent that's best suited to your adventures.
