If you have specific instructions then you can download a returns form enclose with your return and send the items to us in a new and unused resalable condition, securely packaged with all product packaging, labels and tags included within 90 days of receipt.

If you can't print a form then no problem, simply enclose a note with your name / postcode and order number and what action you require with the returned items. You can also return online purchases to our stores for refund / exchange too!

Warranty / Service

Start your warranty claim by clicking here. Please include as much information as possible to help us fully understand the issue. You'll need your order number, and uploading some pictures with the form is a great idea and usually required for us to proceed. If after receipt of your claim form the product needs to be returned to us, we will provide a pre-paid return label or arrange collection for larger / heavier items, customer services will let you know how to proceed. Please don't send a warranty product back without completing the claim form first, as we are unable to refund your postage if you do.

Timescale to deal with your claim - for technical faults or repairs we use the services of the original manufacturer or nominated agent for inspection, testing and high quality guaranteed repairs. Please allow a reasonable timescale for completion of this process, customer services can advise further as this does vary between products.

FAQ's

I think a product I've bought from you is faulty, what should I do?

Firstly, apologies you are having to contact us in these circumstances, in the first instance please complete our warranty service form or pop to the store you bought the product from, we will be pleased to help.

Important– For warranty claims, please complete the warranty form and await a reply from customer services before sending a faulty item back. We are unable to refund your return postage costs unless you have done so.

If customer services advise your product is possibly faulty and requires further inspection, then we will send you a pre-paid return label – simply attach to the parcel and drop into your local Yodel shop. For larger heavier orders like tents & camping furniture etc we can arrange for courier collection if required. You have a legal right to reject faulty goods within 30 days of receipt and get a refund, including postage back to us. Please start the process off by completing our warranty service form, and we will get in touch.

How can I return an order to you?

You can return a new and unused item for a refund within 90 days, a returns form can be found at the top of this page. Go to Yodel to buy your label

Can I return an order to a store?

Yes, of course, if more convenient. Stores can process a refund or exchange, please bring your new / unused goods and a copy of your order email (on your phone is ok)

I don't have a printer, what should I include in the return parcel?

Please include the information requested on the returns form. If we have any issues finding your order, we will give you a call or email, so please ensure these are included.

How do I exchange an item for a different size?

The easiest method is to place a new order for the correct size and simply send the incorrect ones back for a refund. We can process an exchange, but can't reserve stock awaiting the return. To do this, return your order to us with the returns form, tick the box for exchange and include a detailed description of the size and colour you wish to exchange this for.

Once received, we will check the stock of your requested item and despatch the exchanged item to you.

You will receive an email with your tracking information after despatch.

How does Yodel work for returns?

We have partnered with Yodel to offer easy returns. Customers love the convenience of organising a return and dropping it off at the local Yodel store.

Yodel returns costs £3.99 up to 10 kg and 60x50x50cm click here, put your order number in and buy a label.

Delivery to us typically takes 3-4 working days, and you can track this progress online.

Full Terms & Conditions

We don't offer free returns for unwanted or unsuitable orders back to us, you're welcome to drop an order back into one of our stores.

All goods must be in a new and unused condition. All product packaging, labels and tags must be included. For unwanted items, the order will be refunded, excluding any delivery charges. Please don't write or stick returns labels to the product packaging itself but use an outer bag or box.

Tents, awnings, canopies & extensions - Please note that once a tent, awning, canopy or extension has been pitched outside we are unable to accept it back under the 90-day return policy as it not in a new and unused condition. Please check tent dimensions, floor plans and details carefully or if you are unsure please visit one of our stores or shows to view before purchase.

Footwear - Please note, in the case of footwear returns, please use outer packaging to send the product back. Any shoe boxes defaced by parcel tape, stamps, writing or our returns address etc on will not be accepted and will be returned to you.

Climbing Equipment - Safety equipment (climbing gear such as, but not restricted to, harnesses, helmets, ropes, hardware & slings) must be returned in brand new and unused condition as per our returns policy. All packaging including tags and instruction manuals must be present, otherwise we will not be able to accept your return. This is for your own safety and the safety of others.

Underwear - For hygiene reasons we are unable to offer a refund or exchange on briefs, boxers and other underwear returned to us as we are unable to resell these to other customers. Please check the size-chart listed on the product page carefully before ordering underwear, if you require any more detailed sizing assistance then please get in touch and will be happy to measure etc as you require.

Electronics/ data products - returns policy excludes CD/DVD disks, memory cards & data products or any electronic products such as GPS or watches once registered or activated.

Faulty or warranty returns - please go to the Warranty / Service page and complete the claim form is required.

Consumer Contracts Regulation - UK Only (Formally known as Distance Selling Regulations)

You have a right to cancel your order within a fourteen working day cooling off period following the day after the date of delivery for any unused item purchased through the website under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. This does not apply to any perishable goods, unsealed software or item personalised or made to your specification.

To cancel your order using the Consumer Contracts Regulations, you must e-mail or write to us with your details and order number and state that you are cancelling your order and claiming your rights under these regulations. You must take reasonable care of the items, retain all original packaging, and must not use them. All goods are returned at your own expense, unless the item is deemed faulty or incorrect.

You will receive a refund within fourteen days of your notice to cancel. We advise customers to return a product with the original packaging to ensure that the product is not damaged on its return journey.

Returning an order for refund under our 90 return policy without contacting first as set out above does not mean you have claimed your rights under these regulations.

Altberg Dalesway Vegan Boots

The Dalesway Vegan boot gives the same performance and support as the rest of the Altberg 2-3 Season range of boots - however - the materials and components used are non-animal, and nothing used in the boots (including adhesives) is animal derived.

The Dalesway uses Lorica, and an alternative to Leather and Nubuk, lorica is a man made microporous material, which is completely free of animal products. Backed up by a Sympatex waterproof lining, this boot is excellent for 2-3 season use. The Dalesway Vegan is, in fact, the lightest weight boot in the Altberg 2-3 season range.

The Vibram Sole offers good stiffness and support on rough terrain. Making these boots ideal for English hills, Dales and lower lever Lakeland walks and hikes.


Please note: Due to Vibram discontinuing the Werewolf sole, Altberg have replaced the sole with a Vibram Masai (picture two onwards). This sole is visually different and features a rand which does slightly change the appearance of the boot. Due to mixed stock, we are unfortunately unable to specify which sole you will receive. Altberg sizes run true to size.

If you have Medium/ Wide feet - go up 1/2 size on your SHOE size (to allow for thicker socks with boots).

    The boots are great to wear, waterproof and ethical. However, after 15 months of light use I have to return them to Altberg, (turnaround time 8 weeks) and pay to have them resoled. The heels have worn right thru while there is negligible wear anywhere else. Very Dissatisfied Response from Taunton Leisure - we are sorry to hear about your experience with your purchase of these boots and of course this is not the service we aim to provide to our customers. We would always encourage customers to contact us in the first instance when any issue is experienced to query whether there is anything we can do with regards to assessing the item for a warranty claim - depending on the nature of the damage - rather than going directly to the manufacturer. If we are able to help our customers to their best experience then we absolutely aim to do so! We have contacted you to see if there is anything we can do to recompense you for this or if we can help you further to resolve this matter to your satisfaction.

    Delivery within 48 hours - great service. These boots are very high quality - beautifully made and extremely comfortable. Go up one size for insoles and chunky socks. You wouldn’t know they are vegan. Really supple material. Not tested on the hills yet but looking forward to it!

    I haven't done many miles in these yet but so far so good. They are very well made and very comfortable. Like any other boot they will need a bit of breaking in, but I have a few Munros to do this summer so that should sort them out. What I really like about them though is that they are made in Yorkshire and nothing died in the process. Good value and good service from Taunton Leisure.

    Great service from Taunton Leisure.Ive only had the boots for a short while.They didnt seem to need breaking in and were comfortable on a 3 hour hike in dreadful wet conditions.Worn with gaiters as Altberg recommend they have kept my feet warm and dry in rain and wet ground conditions.So far very pleased.

    Having become a vegan summer 2020, I was keen to replace my leather walking boots when they wore out with a more ethical version, yet was looking for a pair that resembled traditional walking boots both in terms of appearance and fit. Cannot rate these highly enough! They look and fit great, have had a number of decent length walks in them now and experienced no breaking in problems at all. Comfortable straight out of the box. I did err on the side of caution having read the official site review and ordered a half size up to allow for thick socks and my aching bunions...perfect.

    Early days in their walking life, but so far my husband has been very pleased with his boots. Vegan materials look great and the boots were very comfy from first wear. He takes a size 9, fairly normal width and the size 9 was perfect.
