Size Guide

Tilley Hat Fitting Tips

The Tilley Hat fits more comfortably than other hats. It’s designed to be worn low on your head and slightly loose. It should be held on by gravity, not by painful pressure on your forehead!

To find your hat size, use a tape measure and place it around your head. For the proper fit, you should be able to easily insert two fingers, flat, between the middle of your forehead and the front of the Hat. The Hat should be loose enough that you can rotate it to the left and right, and lift it up and down, without friction on your forehead.

If you are still unsure, see Tilley's How to Guide for a little extra help.

Product Questions

Product Questions

My Tilley cotton hat, about 10 years old has become very floppy. How can I stiffen it?

Thanks for your question.

Tilley do not recommend any way to stiffen the fabric of their hats, but we suggest you could use fabric starch on the hat which should help stiffen it. This can be found in most supermarkets.

But please beware, any use of liquids, powders or glues on the hat is done so entirely at your own risk. Taunton Leisure or Tilley cannot be held liable if any damage was caused.
