Take a look at the newest and greenest Nordic Tipi in our range.

Whether big or small, it is always wonderful to see a brand make a consorted effort in creating an ultra eco-friendly product. We’ve seen it in Jackets, boots and even some other tents, but this is the first Nordic Tipi we’ve seen.
Tentipi’s new Safir Eco model combines the reliability, comfort, and fortitude of their outstanding Safir model range with top-notch eco-credentials which we’re very proud to add to our range. Today on the TL Blog, we’ll be taking a closer look at just what makes this innovative model a game-changer not just in Tentipi’s range, but maybe even in the industry its products sit atop of.

Safir eco is a tent for people who love and care for nature, constructed with clever design details. It is a tent you can rely on in the toughest of climates, in storm-force gales or blazing heat. From ice fields to glaciers. Perfect for extreme expeditions, challenging trekking and a multitude of other outdoor activities. Safir eco is so durable, it can last for generations.
Lavishly designed with an abundance of user-friendly features and advanced performance, the Safir is more than a tent; it’s a home in your rucksack.
The Safir 7 in our range fits, in comfort, up to 6-8 people sleeping, and 11-14 people sitting.

Far better equipped than one would normally expect of a Nordic tipi, the In-Tent Vent system enables multi-stage, six-option adjustment from the inside of your tent, meaning you don’t even have to get out of your sleeping bag and the integrated chimney opening makes this tipi suitable with use with a fire stove.
Integrated mosquito net in the upper part, and behind the door allows for insect-free ventilation, and three large, mesh-backed base vents increase ventilation and help to draw in air for use with a fire.

What makes it eco-friendly?

The secret to what places this tent amongst the eco-friendly products today is all in its material, Environmex Pro – Made from a unique blend of hemp (a very eco-friendly crop thanks to its ability to grow effectively without the use of pesticides), organic cotton and recycled polyester. The results of testing in harsh conditions demonstrate exclusive features; robust strength, high UV resistance, excellent stability and high water-repellent properties. The combination of these features produces a well-ventilated and premium “indoor” climate.
The use of non-coloured fabric reduces the carbon footprint. No bleaching chemicals, no fabric dye and less water to purify before being discharged into wastewater networks.
Polyester is by far the most commonly discarded plastic. It’s what plastic bottles are made of as well synthetic clothing and even those horrid “disposable tents” which people leave behind at festivals, how sad! Many environmentally minded brands have begun using recycled polyester in their products and it is wonderful to see that Tentipi has done the same in utilising this innovative material. Thanks to cutting the need for virgin polyester, the making of this material uses 40% less water and uses a resource we already have.

Now that you’ve read about it why not consider seeing one for real?
Our Exter store will soon be ready for tent pitching appointments with this tent available, or why not come and see it in all its glory along with its peers at our Tent shows in Exeter and Bristol!
