What we’re wearing in the mountains this summer

Take a look as we handpick items from our huge assortment of outdoor gear to carry us up the UK’s peaks.

With clear days ahead, it is with huge anticipation that we plan long day hikes into the high hills. There is nothing quite like reaching a peak and looking out at the wondrous landscape beneath you. Summer of course brings its challenges, it can be a wondrously warm day at the bottom of your climb while at the top, there could well be strong winds, cold temperatures and even patches of snow. The above photo was taken recently of Ollie from our Taunton store just about to reach the top of Ben Nevis, Britain's highest peak and as you can see despite the sunny weather, snow and Ice can still be found.
Due to these conditions, we’re choosing some of our most technical and most adaptable gear. The kind perfect for mountainous terrain with the adaptability to transition you from luscious sunny temperatures to potentially some of our most rough. Weather can change quickly in the mountains and it is always worth being prepared. We’ll be choosing some of our favourite pieces beginning with…

Something for your head: The Patagonia P-6 Logo Trucker Hat

The hat’s front, bill and headband are made from 100% organic cotton canvas and a polyester mesh in the back keeps you cool. The structured six-panel design and pliable, pre-curved brim provide comfort and adjustable snaps in back customise the fit.
