Maddie let you know her thoughts on this classic mid layer piece.
I have always been drawn towards Patagonia clothing because of their perfect mix of style and practicality, with the added bonus of a cool logo. After having the opportunity to review the women’s synch jacket I did some research on the brand and I now love them even more. The company goes above and beyond to help the planet and the incredible founder, Yvon Chouinard, is at the forefront of creating a business that addresses the environmental crisis. 1% of sales each year to grassroots environmental non-profits and 100% of the companies voting stock goes to the Patagonia Purpose Trust.
The Patagonia Women’s Synch Jacket is now a staple of my wardrobe, as soon as I put it on I fell in love with how soft and comfortable it is. The jacket is made of Synchilla® a synthetic fabric that is made to imitate chinchilla hairs, it is made from 95-100% recycled polyester and made in a fair trade certified factory.
I wear a size XS and it fits me very well around the waist and chest, I would say its very true to size as I normally wear 6/8 but I would recommend sizing up if you have long arms or just prefer a baggier fit. It isn’t bulky so I can easily wear it underneath my waterproof or down jacket. As someone that struggles with circulation in their hands the front welted pockets are perfect on those chillier walks. Womenswear has been known to have pockets that are too small but these pockets are a great size, I can easily fit my phone, keys snacks and those ever essential dog poo bags.
I recently took the jacket on a trip to Wales and it was incredibly versatile, it was the first thing I grabbed when taking the dog for a walk, popping down the corner shop to buy more bottles of wine and sitting in the autumn sun in a pub garden. It was of course perfect for the mountain hikes we did, a brilliant mid layer under my waterproof and nice and breathable when the weather was dry. As someone that can be slightly fashion conscious I think this jacket is very stylish for any age range. I love the oatmeal colour with contrast zips and pocket, it can easily be thrown on with whatever you are wearing.
I expect this jacket to continue to be part of my wardrobe and I know that it will last me many many years.
