These terms and conditions will apply to all transactions with Taunton Leisure Ltd.  By using this site or placing an order you are agreeing to the terms and conditions outlined below. Please read carefully before placing any order.

General

  • All contracts shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English Law and any dispute between us will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.

  • No contract shall be deemed to exist between Taunton Leisure Ltd and a customer until we have confirmed such. Nothing in these terms and conditions will be deemed to affect your statutory rights.

Orders

We are pleased to accept orders by any of the following methods. Online transaction (secure server), e-mail (not secure), or through any of our stores.

  • All credit/debit card transactions are subject to validation checks and are authorised by the card issuer. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Visa Debit, Maestro and PayPal.

  • If the issuer of your card / PayPal refuses to authorise payment to us, we will not be liable for any delay and/or non-delivery of your order. No orders will be accepted or processed without a valid card or PayPal payment in the name of the registered cardholder.

The Order Process

  • When you place an order online or by phone we will email you confirmation that it has been received.

  • The order will then go through a number of checks before we accept it and confirm the products are being dispatched.

  • These checks include stock availability, product prices, security, payment and fraud screening.

  • Your order has not been accepted until this process is complete and no contract exists until we confirm that the items have been dispatched to you. 

HM Forces BFPO Orders

  • Deliveries to BFPO addresses are sent via the Forces internal mail service at Mill Hill, delivery charges vary.

  • Individual members of HM Forces serving in EU countries (excluding The United Kingdom and Northern Ireland) will be charged VAT on any order unless goods are for the personal use of the individual or their dependents, or for individual use on official duties and goods are delivered to an EU country.

  • Every order must be accompanied by a declaration that the individual is a member of HM Forces serving within the EU and that the above conditions apply.

Delivery

Key points are below -

  • We aim to dispatch your order within one working day of receipt and depending on the value & weight of your order it will be sent on Royal Mail tracked or DPD premium courier delivery.

  • If you would like to request urgent dispatch such as before 10 am or Saturday delivery there are other options at checkout, any queries please contact us.

  • All goods are subject to availability. In the event that we are unable to supply your goods within thirty days, we will inform you before the end of the next working day and try to advise you of the expected delivery date.

  • If no delivery date is available, or the item is sold out and we are unable to supply your order, then we will discuss with you an alternative if possible otherwise a full refund will be processed. Outstanding orders/items can be cancelled at any time.

  • We dispatch to the UK and selected European countries.

  • Europe, Islands, the Highlands of Scotland and Northern Island attract a higher charge for delivery from our carrier.

  • Delivery to these postcodes* attracts an additional surcharge. If once we have processed the order the total parcel weight is above 15kg or over the allowed Royal Mail dimensions we will ask for additional payment for shipping to allow for courier delivery.

  • Deliveries to Europe may incur higher charges depending on the weight and value of the items ordered. You will be contacted if there is additional postage to pay.

  • Most deliveries will need to be signed for.

  • Once received, please inspect your goods carefully and advise of any issues.

Receipt of your order

  • Once you have received your order please inspect the goods carefully and notify us immediately of any problems with the items or issues.

  • In the event of any goods delivered by us being damaged or damaged in transit, missing items shown on the delivery note, or failing to match the items ordered by you, then such details must be notified by you to us within seven working days of receipt.

  • If we receive no such notification the customer will be deemed to have accepted the items as satisfactory.

Whilst every effort will be made to deliver your goods to you a soon as possible we cannot be held liable for any consequential loss caused by late delivery or failure to deliver by the company's appointed carrier.

Online Returns & Exchanges

We want you to be entirely satisfied with every purchase made from Taunton Leisure and are proud of the quality, range, and advice that we offer.

  • If you wish to return an item for an exchange or you have decided not to keep it, please download a returns form and return it to us within 90 days.

  • All goods must be in a new and unused condition together with all packaging and labels together with a copy of your original receipt.

  • We advise customers to return a product in the original parcel packaging to ensure that the product is not damaged on its return journey. We will then exchange or refund the cost of the item(s). Note: in the case of footwear returns please use outer packaging to send the product back. 

  • Any shoe boxes defaced by parcel tape, stamps or writing our returns address on can't be accepted and will be returned back to you.

  • Please note: safety equipment (climbing gear such as, but not restricted to, harnesses, helmets, ropes, hardware & slings) are non-exchangeable and non-returnable unless incorrectly sent or faulty.

  • The return policy excludes CD/DVD disks, memory cards & data products, and for hygiene reasons, underwear such as briefs / boxers / boy shorts.  Please email us for more details before purchase if you are unsure.

All goods must be in a new and unused condition together with a copy of your original receipt. If you wish to return any item because you feel it is faulty, please contact us to discuss before returning the product. We recommend that all items returned to us be sent recorded delivery with insurance paid as a minimum. Your local Post Office will be able to advise. 

Shop Returns and Exchanges

If the product you buy is unsuitable then please return the item within 90 days of purchase with your receipt and we will be happy to offer a refund or exchange, provided the item is returned in a perfect unused condition with all relevant packaging and tags.

  • Some products are excluded from this policy – items specially ordered for you, CD/DVD disks, memory cards & data products and for hygiene reasons underwear such as briefs/boxers / boy shorts. Ask staff for more details before purchase if you are unsure.

  • Refund will be by the original payment method or card. For cash refunds we may require some notice due to security reasons.
  • This offer does not extend to personal protective equipment such as, but not limited to, ropes, harnesses, protection and other climbing equipment. These are safety items covered by PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) legislation that requires us to guarantee the quality, condition, storage and use of any product we sell.

  • Once a safety product purchased has left the store we are unable to satisfy these criteria and therefore no returns are permitted.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and would suggest a purchase of Gift Vouchers as an alternative.

Consumer Contracts Regulations

(Formally known as Distance Selling Regulations)

  • You have a right to cancel your order within a fourteen working day cooling off period following the day after the date of delivery for any unused item purchased through the website under the distance selling regulations for refund. This does not apply to any perishable goods, unsealed software or item personalised or made to your specification.
  • To cancel any item, you can e-mail or write to us with your details and order number. You must take reasonable care of the items, retain all original packaging and must not use them. All goods are returned at your own expense unless the item is deemed faulty or incorrect.
  • You will receive a refund within fourteen days of your notice to cancel. We advise customers to return a product with the original packaging to ensure that the product is not damaged on its return journey.

Warranty

Taunton Leisure Ltd fully complies with EU and UK Consumer Rights Law. Many brands offer extended warranties and guarantees, we recommend registering your purchase with them (if applicable). If you have a warranty or service claim then please contact us in the first instance by completing a claim form.

Products, Prices & Content

Whilst every effort is made to ensure the pictures and colours depicted on the site match as closely as possible those of the actual product due to technical limitations, some colours may vary.

  • All prices are shown in pound sterling (£) and are inclusive of UK VAT at the current rate unless clearly stated.

  • Prices, product descriptions, and specifications are checked to the best of our ability, and whilst every effort has been made to make them accurate, no responsibility will be accepted for errors and omissions.

  • Any information displayed on our website(s) or other printed matter by the company is not regarded to be authoritative or certified as the best practice and is only considered to be useful supplementary advice to other certified codes of practice. All information on our web site is updated regularly.

  • We reserve the right to alter our prices and specifications without notice.

Pricing errors

Whilst every effort is taken to ensure the prices on our site are correct, in the event of a price error we will contact you as soon as possible by email to let you know. Unfortunately, no responsibility will be accepted for errors and as per our Terms and Conditions, we reserve the right to not accept an order at the price specified. 

Ownership of Goods

All items supplied to the customer remain the property of Taunton Leisure until final payment of all sums owing in respect of those goods has been received in full by us.

WEEE Regulations and our policy.

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is now UK law. The legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection, treatment, and recovery of waste electrical equipment. The regulations also mean that suppliers of equipment like high street shops and internet retailers must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.

The amount of WEEE we throw away is increasing by around 5% each year, making it the fastest growing waste stream in the UK.

Much of the UK's WEEE ends up in a landfill, where the lead and other toxins it contains can cause soil and water contamination. This can have a harmful effect on natural habitat, wildlife and also human health.

Many electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled.  Recycling items helps to save our natural finite resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending electrical goods to landfill.

Distributors of new Electric and Electronic Equipment (EEE) have a part to play in reducing the amount of WEEE going into landfill sites. Taunton Leisure Ltd is obliged under these regulations to offer our customers free take-back of their WEEE on a like-for-like basis when they buy a new Electrical or Electronic product from us.

For example, if a customer bought a new electric camping lantern from us we would accept their old lantern and prevent it going into a landfill site by disposing of it safely. Customers must return their WEEE item to us within 28 days of purchasing their new item.

We want you to be confident about ordering online, we use secure socket layer (SSL) technology to ensure that your details are safe and information you provide is fully encrypted so that it cannot be read by third parties.
