The Tentipi Impregnating Agent is designed for use on fabrics with at least 50% natural fibre blend.

It provides thorough renovation, and protects against both rotting and water. The very high proportion of dry matter gives exceptional long-term protection: 2 - 3 seasons of intensive use.

This agent was produced for the Swedish and Norwegian armies, which guarantees high quality.

  • Size: 1 Litre

Each Litre of Acapella solution needs to be diluted with 20% water and mixed well.

Coverage

1 litre treats between 3-6 m² fabric: which means that for your tipi you will need the following amounts of diluted Acapella reproofing solution.

Kåta (Tipi) model            Diluted solution (for 250 g CP fabrics)

  • All models size 5 - 3 litres
  • All models size 7 - 4 litres
  • All models size 9 - 6 litres
  • All models size 15 - 8 litres

Each Litre of Acapella solution needs to be diluted with 20% water and mixed well.

Clean the canvas using Acapella Cleaner. Rinse thoroughly and allow time for the tent to dry thoroughly before applying the Acapella reproofing treatment.

  1. Spread the dry canvas on a firm surface.
  2. Shake the container of Acapella well. If more than one container is being used, you can mix the contents of both, to avoid differences in shade.
  3. Each litre of reproofing solution should then be diluted with (0.2l = 200cm3 = 20%) of water and mixed thoroughly.
  4. Apply a thin coat with a stiff brush, always brushing in the same direction. Let the seams act as borders for the different sections.
  5. If pools of fluid form; brush them out immediately to avoid patches of different colours when the fabric dries.
  6. Reproof the whole canvas at the same time
  7. If the tipi canvas appears blotchy a second treatment needs to be applied.
  8. For the second treatment, where necessary: dilute Acapella with 10% water and apply once more.

The canvas will usually be dry to touch after about 4 hours. We recommend hanging the tent in a well-ventilated space for a further 2-3 days prior to use.

The colour marking on the container indicates the colour of the contents.

Always test on a hidden part of the canvas first.

We need to reproof our tent. One panel in particular leaked with heavy rain, but the tent is 7 years old so I would like to reproof the whole tent. Can i pitch the tent and re-proof when it is pitched, rather than lying it on a flat surface. It is a tentipi 7 . Also how much re-proofing fluid will I need.

Hello, thanks for your question. You will need 4 litres of Acapella for your tent. I wouldn't recommend proofing the tent while it is pitched, it will be hard to reach the upper part of the tent due to it's conical shape and the proofer is easier to apply and control on a flat surface. There is plenty of information about Acapella here under spec. and buying guide, but please call or email if you have any further queries.

Tipi canvas has lost proofing in small patches - been to a festival and bubble machines were being used, where bubbles have landed on canvas the detergent has attacked the proofing. Can I just reproofing these small sections? Thanks.

Thanks for your question, you can certainly do this, you may find that the reproofed areas may looks slightly different in appearance but technically this will cause no issues to the tent.
