Rob’s first look at the Airzone 22 from Lowe Alpine
With a review coming soon, Rob from the Bristol store gives his very first thoughts on Lowe Alpine’s superb pack.

I knew the bag was going to be lightweight coming from Lowe Alpine (the creators of the very successful Aeon 27) but I was worried about it's fit; usually when a bag is unisex it sacrifices elements of comfort for both sexes and me and my partner are drastically different shapes. Before placing it on my back, I attached some walking poles I found in the shop to try out the tip gripper walking pole attachments and I was immediately impressed with how simple yet effective this system was at keeping the poles secure. Additionally, I rolled up two jackets (sizes large and medium) to help fill the bag and test whether or not the suspended mesh carry system didn't impede space for a small lunchbox. With some bags I find that these carry systems result in the bag having awkward shapes but the Airzone shined through. With that done I placed the bag on my back and began fitting it to myself, I'm not sure if it's due to my experience working in the shop or the bag itself but it took no more than 5-10 seconds to fit and the bag was immediately comfortable. My initial thoughts on the bag is that it's a very well thought out bag for those who are wanting to be active, having a raincover, vented back and being hydration compatible it offers plenty of flexibility in its use for a very reasonable price tag.
