Our Ultimate Robens Glamping Setup

Read on as we hand select some of favourite products from our superb range of Robens products to make our perfect base glamp.

Glamping: A portmanteau of “glamorous” and “camping”, and describes a style of camping with nothing spared in regards to outdoor aesthetic and luxury.

We all love camping here, sleeping in a simple shelter under the stars is a superb way of getting back in touch with nature, throwing the faff of the everyday and breathing in some fresh air for once. However, just because you’re sleeping a little closer to the ground does not mean that it has to be uncomfortable or without your everyday luxuries. For those looking to maximise on space, comfort and perhaps some great pictures to sling on social media, enter GLAMPING!

Glamping is all about the extra luxuries that can push your simple, rustic camping setup to another level of sophistication. As I’m sure you are aware, some glamping setups including those at specialised glamping resorts across the UK can be ridiculously setup, including luxuries which do not lack a single aspect which you would not have at home. This includes real indoor furniture, rugs, and even in more than a few cases a hot tub!

We’re going to be taking a step back from all that for our perfect glamping setup, covering the basics but still optimizing comfort and a top notch outdoor glamping aesthetic, after all, if want to do a lot of glamorous camping, you’ll still need to get it all in the car. For us there is one brand which covers an entire range of tents and camping accessories that speaks to this briefing perfectly, Robens. This Danish tent and gear maker has an absolutely superb range of outdoor equipment which embodies an almost classical, good looking design with optimal comfort, durability and usability. Because of this, we cannot think of a better brand within our range that covers everything you’ll need for a picturesque, luxurious and accessible glamping setup. We’ll start with the big one!

The Tent: The Robens Klondike

This tent proves perfect comfort for up to 6 people, which means it has more than enough luxurious room for 2 within the perfect glamping setup. Plus, there is just no getting away from that classic bell tent design when it comes to proper glamping! Part of Robens' Outback Range, these eye-catching, retro and stand out from the crowd tents feature proven technical performance, modern manufacturing expertise and quality materials. This tent stands at 2.7m tall meaning you can stand up in it.

The front vertical door allows for easy access - especially in bad weather and protective eaves run around the tent to shelter the door and walls from rain run off. A vertical zip gives you the option to open one half of the door at a time or you can roll both sides back for full opening. Mesh ventilation panels in the door also aids airflow.

Featuring Robens Internal Apex Vent Control, this simple and highly effective solution controls airflow by pulling and locking off two cords that run through integral channels.

Low level mesh venting compliments the apex vent for ideal air movement throughout the tent. This also works perfectly when you choose to use a stove such as the Denali or Kobuk. A stovepipe port in the top cap and zip in the groundsheet to the centre pole make stove use safe and practical and creates a area for muddy footwear, keep the rest of your tent clean and dry.

The zip on groundsheet is designed to be pegged out first, helping you pitch your tent in the correct spot and then zip on the flysheet, leaving enough gap by the door to allow enough slack to insert the centre and A-frame door pole.

The HydroTex Polycotton is a durable tight-weave fabric with a water repellent treatment that assists rain run off on the tent walls. In heavy rain the fibres swell to form a waterproof seal and the UV-inhibitor treatment helps the fabric to last for years with care. The superb breathable fabric maintains the tent's micro-climate by eliminating condensation and keeping the internal temperature cool in the summer and warm when the temperatures fall.

If you are looking for even more space for gear, people or furniture, the Klondike Grande is has room enough for up to 10 people.
