Vango’s range of lightweight, backpacking tents never fails season after season to impress avid outdoorsy people. There is after all a reason why it is the first brand recommended either by the Scouts or DofE award programs. There is something so wonderfully easy about Vango’s designs, if you know anything about tents, you will certainly be able to pitch these with little to no instruction. There is a great deal to be said about that, especially when it comes to bad weather and having to pitch quickly and effectively!
Today we’ll be taking a closer look at Vango’s F10 range and picking out just what sets it apart from other manufacturer’s models. We will find features on these tents unique to Vango!

F10 – A range that has revolutionised camping

In Vango’s words “The F10 Series has been made specifically for the most audacious outdoor adventurers; for those who push human endurance to braking point; for those who make decisions fuelled by pure adrenaline; for those with the hunger to achieve the impossible.”
The F10 range of tents is indeed incredibly well built, our small range is very lightweight. We have chosen these tents to appeal to serious backpackers who are happy to go for countless days in the wilderness with everything they need. Perfect for intrepid travellers and bike packers, these dependable tents will not let you down.
The F10 Helium UL tents make excellent solo tents, they pack down small and weigh next to nothing meaning you can either prioritise low carry weight or make room for other things. Designed to perform in fast and light expeditions where keeping weight low is paramount, the ProTex 15.SRN flysheet is made from high quality, 15 denier ripstop nylon fabric which is extremely strong while retaining an incredibly low weight. The high quality dye retains colour in extended UV exposure and a PU coating ensures the fabric is water-tight. Fully seam taped and completely siliconised, the ProTex 15.SRN offers a 3000mm Hydrostatic Head rating.
We can’t talk about the F10 range without mentioning Vango’s game changing Project Hydrogen Air tent. The Hydrogen Air has been years of development and innovation to combine their AirBeam technology and technical range to create the world’s lightest and fastest to pitch AirBeam tent. The AirBeam technology creates a stable structure that is more resistant to deformation than a conventional pole. This single beam features a Shrader valve, designed to be used with a bike pump or CO2 cartridge, making it ideal or bike packing, hill walking and climbing. The highly compressible structure means it packs down to 1.5litres and can be packed into small rucksacks and bike packing bags.
If you’re into lightweight tents we very much recommend giving this tent a look as it potentially marks a very interesting direction for many tents in the future.
