At Taunton Leisure we like to employ staff that are committed to outdoor activities, on our staff we have climbers, walkers, people that have travelled the world, paddlers, skiers and lots more.

You will need lots of enthusiasm, great people skills and confidence to talk to customers about their activities and the equipment they might need. One minute you could be talking to a family about a tent for their summer holiday and the next be fitting a climbing harness.

Of course we don't expect you to know all the areas, in fact we are suspicious of applicants that say they do! Full training will be given and over the probationary period of three months you would expect to gain most of the key knowledge areas and skills.

Training and development doesn't stop there though, all stores have weekly training sessions, manufacturer training clinics and we also take staff 'on the hill' for walking & camping days & nights to gain experience of new products actually out there in the real world.

Full Time Mail Order Assistant - 6 month contract

A vacancy has become available in our busy online / mail order department for a picking / packing / dispatch position.

Responsibilities include - order processing, picking, checking products prior to dispatch and packing of orders. The role may also develop into dealing with customer queries by phone and email and general office duties so good communication skills are required.

Experience in a similar role is desirable with great attention to detail, accuracy and a commitment to great customer service pre-requisits. Full training will be given.

Hours - 8.30am - 5pm Monday - Friday. Extra hours at weekends / Bank Holidays at key busy periods.

Tent sales staff - Sanders Gardenworld Tent Show - Seasonal positions for 26th March start

We are recruiting new team members for our busy Spring and Summer tent show which is at Sanders Garden World, Brent Knoll, Somerset.

We are looking for sales assistants that can help customers with their camping needs, pitch tents, deal with sales in the store and general shop duties. It goes without saying that experience and preferably a love of camping and the outdoors is a must plus great people skills in order to talk to customers. Training will be given.

Hours are flexible, in past seasons we have had full time, part time and flexible staff. The tent show is open 7 days a week all though the Summer, including Bank Holidays and closes at the beginning of September. In previous years staff have transfered to sales positions at one of our shops and should a suitable position become available then this is a real possibility, but not guaranteed.

This is a great opportunity to work in the outdoors, meet some interesting people and be part of a friendly team and company.
