Small packable lantern that gives 3 - 5 hours burn time from a tea light in a safe compact package.

Extra tea light can be stored in the base and it's easy to hang with a chain & hook.

Made from lightweight aluminium, ideal for backpacking and camping.

Colour: Red, Green or Blue.

5 stars Uco Micro - great little lantern Written by Sarah

I have both the Uco original and mini and use them for a lot of the travelling I do, and also on expeditions. The original is of course brighter, but I love the convenience of the tea lights - I can easily pack one for each night of an expedition and like the fact I can light one before bed and just let it burn out. Obviously this does not replace a headtorch or whatever main / spot lighting you use; I solely use the Uco and a Petzyl Tac Tikka - together they are just fine even for running clinics at night in the Himalayas with no electricity...! I love the best if both worlds with the Uco and Petzyl; I can even leave a Uco outside my tent at night as a marker if anyone needs me. Do bear in mind that after a while, the whole tea light become liquid, so if it is going to be swung around a bit, you may be better off with the original, though the mini does have a wax catcher base which I have found pretty effective. Until recently, I have been mainly using the mini due to the convenience, compactness and economy of the tea lights, however, when the chimney broke, I decided to try the micro - I can fit two in my pack for the space of one original; plus the added benefit (for me) of the tea lights, but best of all, the retractable design like the orginal - makes for more space and less chance of glass breakage - and I dont feel guilty carrying two of them for when we have no power with a large group of clients. Well done Uco - this is a great development (and a logical one). I plan to take my 2 micros with me to France next month 2 up motorbike camping - if I can find space for them on that set up, anyone can...! Seriously - it's a great addition to the uco family - you really should be able to find the right lantern for you even if the mini isnt it - a very versatile range to suit pretty much all needs.
