DMM 4CU cams are about 20% lighter than conventional cams which means you
can carry and place 20% more gear for the same weight on your rack.
Always nice to have an excuse for lacing a climb!
Each cam is rated to 14 kN in the active, working position with the
quick release sling doubled, and 12 kN with sling fully extended. The
passive strength of the cams, resting on their stops, is 10 kN.
The cams are carefully machined to a 13.75 degree spiral to create
optimum camming power. This, combined with a free floating axle and
sliding trigger create a light, well designed cam suitable for
everything from UK trad to alpine rock.
