Create the perfect package for your tent by adding a tent carpet, tent footprint and canopy or awning to enhance your camping experience to the full.
Tent carpets are cut for each particular model and fit in the living area of your family tent, this makes the tent cosy and comfortable and makes waking up making a cup of tea on a cold morning not so much of a chore! The tent carpets vary a little between brands in fabric types but they are pretty tough and hard-wearing with a strong backing fabric / foam to give a slight cushioning on some types.
Tent footprints are a popular choice to help to protect the main floor of the tent. With most family models now being fully sewn in it's also not so easy to clean the tent groundsheet (as it's all attached to the flysheet). A tent footprint helps with this, it's cut to the same shape as the tent, you peg it down first before pitching the tent on top, a bit more insulation is provided but mostly it makes your main tent floor last longer and if you are camping on rougher ground it takes the abuse of rocks etc.
Please note, tent footprints are cut slightly smaller than the full dimension of the tent, this is so the footprint doesn't poke our from underneath and, when it rains, draw water under the floor.
Tent extensions/canopies/awnings add extra space and match the tent style and shape perfectly. Some attach on the side, some on the front so it's worth checking our dimensions on the product pages to work out the full pitch size so you can fit it! With some models the space you get with tent and extension/canopy combined is nothing short of luxury.
Perhaps they are more suited to a longer camping trip where you may be pitched up for a number of days or if the weather forecast is mixed having extra space is perfect for cooking, eating or drying wet clothes etc. Most of the canopies also come with a groundsheet too, check the descriptions, and this makes the comfort almost as good as the tent itself.
