Year after year, this Hilleberg Akto ultra-light solo tent is a favourite among backpackers and Taunton Leisure staff alike. 

The Akto tent pitches easily in the worst of weather, provides good storage and excellent protection from the elements. Pitching as one, it has a single main pole with four stub end poles for better stability and more interior space.

The fly or inner can be used on their own (needs extra pole cups). For a tent of this size the excellent ventilation keeps condensation under control.

The waterproof Hilleberg Kerlon 1200 outer fabric used on the Akto tent has perhaps the best strength to weight ratio available today. Multiple reflectors for maximum visibility, strong and tough guylines, plus zipper flaps to provide extra weather protection and increase the zip's longevity.

5 stars a Fantasic lightweight 1 man tent Written by B. Samways
I have had an Akto now for over 6 years and its a fantastic tent, It’s a lightweight tent and will happily withstand serious storms I’ve used it in snow, strong winds, hail and rain and it stands up to everything that is thrown at it across all 4 seasons. There is sufficient room in the porch to leave your boots and rucksack and enough room in the tent to sleep comfortably, sit up (height dependant), get dressed and store clothes etc next to you Its easy to pitch in strong winds with no assistance needed The only down side to this tent is that its prone to condensation on the inside however I find that by fully opening the vents this reduces it greatly and is perfectly manageable If my tent was to need replacing tomorrow I wouldn’t hesitate in buying another akto and wouldnt even consider another brand. I’ve been so impressed with the Hilleberg brand so far that I’m looking to upgrade my 2 man tent to a Hilleberg one this year also 11th Apr, 2011

Hello, Is the Akto you have the latest version - does it have the DAC Featherlite NSL poles? Cheers John

It is this years model we had them delivered in at the beginning of the year and it is the DAC Featherlite NSL poles

Your website seems to be the cheapest price for the Akto(which is good),but i would like to know if you have it in red ?.Some other sites do sell it in red but i dont wish to pay around an extra 50-60 pounds dearer than here.

The Tent is available in the green colour only.

We do not stock the Tent in the red colour. Sorry.

I purchased a Hilleberg Akto tent from your Bristol store in 2004 , it now needs a repair what is the procedure to follow

Thanks for your question, you can return it to the Bristol store and they can then in turn send it back to Hilleberg for repair. Depending on the repair required they may be able to contact Hilleberg for an estimation of the costs before sending but this is not always possible. Bear in mind the tent will be sent to Sweden for repair so the shipping costs will be significant. You could always use an independent repairer in the UK, like http://www.imagescotland.com/scottishmountaingear-home.asp - lots of manufacturers use them for service but if specific Hilleberg parts or components are required this may not be possible.

Can you confirm that the tent on offer includes the modifications Hilleberg have made to deal with inner condensation. Namely the inclusion of 'zipper adjustable vents' at foot and head ends. Many thanks

Thanks for your question. I can confirm that our Hilleberg Akto stock is the fully up to date 2012 model, so will include the latest features including the zipper adjustable vents at foot and head ends.
