A full on mountain tent for 3 the Force Ten Vortex 300 tent is for high level mountain use and UK winter camping.

A full geodesic design (lots of crossing poles meaning extra strength for the purposes of tent designs) means a super strong shelter for harsh conditions.

Ideal as a basecamp for a winter climbing trip for example this tent would have no problem handling a camp site in the Cairngorms with heavy snowfall or strong winds.

With either more room for 2 people for extended trips or for 3 the Vortex is similar in design to the 200 model.

For any users that have spent time in the mountains it's a familiar design with two doors, ideal for more winter gear storage, and 4 pole design.

If weight is a consideration then this comes in at around 4.7 - 4.9kg on your pack but the usual plan is to split the inner / outer / poles / pegs between 2 - 3 users which makes it more manageable. However don't compare the weight to a lighter tunnel design or a simpler backpacking model this is a full on winter 'it's been snowing for 2 days solid' use tent.

Spec wise it's solid, well made with just the right mix of flysheet and floor fabrics for weight and durabiliy - check out the spec tab.

Force Ten tents have a history in adventure and expeditions that many brands can't match and are famous for the bright orange ridge tents used the world over for mountain and wilderness expeditions.

The new Force Ten tent line up is bang up to date with superb fabrics and designs. Part of the Vango group, Force Ten has all the benefits of sourcing and research & development that this brings whilst not being afraid to launch niche models like the single skin Vitesse.

The Ultralite range (including the Vitesse & Helium tent models) is aimed at backpacking, cycle tours, adventure racing, in fact any use that wants to carry minimal weight but not compromise too much on comfort or reliability.

The Mountain range (including the Vortex & Spindrift tent models) is just that, trusted geodesic designs, snow valances, super strong poles, tents to climb mountains, base camp in the greater ranges and loads in between.

WHY DONT YOU SELL THE FORCE 10 MK5 THAT HAS BREATHABLE COTTON INSIDE INSTEAD OF MOISTURE LOVING MAN MADE FABRIC FULL OF DRAUGHTY VENTS?

Thanks for your question, sorry you're right we don't stock the cotton Force Ten tents any more, we have done so in the past and got little or no demand at all for them so decided not to stock them for this season. You're correct that the benefits of cotton are significant and we find that in larger family tents it's becoming ever more popular but then again they do weigh a lot more, especially when wet, so perhaps that's why customers don't consider them for smaller backpacking tents any more.
